Awesome Psychological Hacks

You can improve the outcome of any social situation. Just use some of these awesome psychological hacks collected from Quora, Reddit and other online sources listed below, to improve your life.

  1. WOMAN WEAR RED!
For women the color red makes them exponentially more attractive. Research has shown that men will go to great lengths to do things for a woman that is dressed in red than they would not do otherwise for a womsn dressed in another color like give her money or even carry her across the street.

  2. DO THE DIRTY FIRST!
Next time, that you are required to check off an entire list of “work to do”, always start with the most difficult one first. Doing this tends to make the whole process (work load)less tiring and you can get it done much faster.

"Do the dirty first" first signifies doing a ugly/most unwanted thing first. This work psychologically, when you complete the most hated thing at first, the thing becomes- “Yes! Now, the rest of the day will be so much easier, glad I took care of that first!” this increases your chances to finish off the entire list within or in less than time than you figured.

  3. SAY MY NAME!
Alright, don't say mine (which is Brian and pleased to meet you..) but say the name of the person whom you wish to hold a good opinion about you.
This works when you meet someone for first time, now instead of saying "good bye", say the person name like "good bye John". The person would love the fact that you paid him attention when he was telling you his name (since you are meeting him for first time) and he will ought to think that you had paid attention to his entire talk as well, which might mean that you are a good person to him.

  4. The most charming people have the strange habit of using your name a lot. When you meet someone, help yourself remember their name by saying it a lot in conversation which has the added effect of making them like you.

  5. PICK UP AFTER YOURSELF IMMEDIATELY!
Even if you are tired, do yourself a favor, and pick up that shoe you just tossed on the floor. You are going to pick it up eventually. Fight the laziness, take care of it now and you will have one less thing to do later.

  6. LEARN BY TEACHING!
Studies show you retain a lot more information and your overall comprehension improves when you teach something you know to someone

  7. THREATS INTO CHALLENGES!
The same reaction your body has to fear is the exact same reaction you have when exhibiting courage. Reframe threats into challenges.

  8. PAY ATTENTION TO PEOPLE'S FEET!
If you approach two people in the middle of a conversation and they only turn their torsos and not their feet, they don’t want you to join in the conversation.
Similarly, if you are in a conversation with a coworker who you think is paying attention to you and their torso is turned towards you but their feet are facing in another direction, they want the conversation to end.

  9. BUILD LITTLE HABITS!
Habits take almost no mental energy to keep up, so they’re a great way to get the most out of your life. Build a tiny habit of focusing on your craft every day. If you’re a writer, try to publish a 100-word Medium article every day. Sounds too easy? That’s the point.

  10. ARGUMENT FIRST, STANCE SECOND!
Make sure to tell people what you believe first rather than why you believe it. For example if you say I'm an atheist and this is what I believe, people will discount you because they already know the motivations of your actions.

  11. FOCUS ON THE PROCESS!
The mind is a wonderful thing, instead of focusing on the end goal, focus on the steps, that you'll need to take to reach it. Your mind will come up with amazing ideas to help you reach them.
